Dr. Christian S. Pope attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts through the Tufts University School of Medicine. Currently working as an OB-GYN in private practice in New Bedford and Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, in addition to teaching at Tufts in Boston, his clinical interests focus on obstetrical procedures, fertilization challenges and high-risk pregnancy. Dr. Pope is a member of various professional societies, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the New England Association of Gynecology Laparoscopists and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. A noted author and lecturer, he has received numerous honors, including "House Staff/Fellow Excellence in Teaching" and "Outstanding Obstetrical Performance" awards from Tufts University School of Medicine, and was named "SLS Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Surgeon" by the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons in 2003. In addition to his special interests in minimally invasive gynecology, he is a featured columnist on Women's HealthCare topics in Southcoastal Massachusett's leading newspaper, The Standard Times.
