Ellen E. Sheets, MD is the Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer at Cytyc Corporation, a medical device firm located in Marlborough, MA.  In this capacity, she develops and oversees all clinical trials within the company and collaborates with researchers to further product claims and product line differentiation.  Her responsibilities include support of business development by assessing new technologies for possible acquisition, marketing, sales training and customer training.  Prior to joining Cytyc Corporation in 2002, she was an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. 

Dr. Sheets was born in the greater Detroit area, attended the University of Michigan undergrad with a BS (honors and distinction) from the Honors College and then graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School.  She is a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist, a sub-boarded gynecologic oncologist and a full member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists along with the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists.  During her academic career, she served on numerous national and international medical committees including the NCCN, ACS, NCI gynecologic oncology directors committee, and the International Gynecologic Cancer Society.
